I'm not a great driver. Only one "accident" though, and it really wasn't my fault. I'm all about safety, really I am. Not into the slow drivers though. I call them "pokers", or other names that aren't so affectionate. I don't like people who drive excessively fast either. They're typically referred to as "bad asses" or other such terms. In all reality though, I'm more of a "bad ass" myself. Here's the thing. If the speed limit is 35 miles per hour (MPH), you have to go 35 MPH, because we all have places to go. In this capitalistic society, we all have places to go, and time is money. That's why you can really get away with going 36-45 MPH most of the time in that "35" zone. Myself, I'm more of a 40 MPH in the "35" zone kind of guy. Of course, I always get some slow "(insert multiple expletives here)" in front of me going 25 MPH in the "35". This boils me, and it happens in "55" and "65" zones too. I also love the clown in the far left lane on I-270, 315, or 71 that's going around 60 MPH and staying in the fast lane, clogging it up for those of us who have the fuckin (not to be confused with "fucking") cruise set on 78 MPH on our way to our second job, or school. Sorry, you probably see some road rage developing. I actually flipped someone off the other day. This was actually a first for me, and it wouldn't have happened if they didn't honk their horn.
The point is, I have places to go.
Again though, if I'm going 86 MPH down 315, and some bad ass comes up behind me doing 95 MPH, I'm point blank fuckin flabbergasted (should that be spelled "fuckin'"?). That person is automatically a "maniac" that should be locked up. I also just realized "fuckin" is a slang term, and probably not a proper English word at all. This isn't good considering I'm in an English class.
Anyways, you can tell what my pet peeve is. I'm an excellent driver. I consider excessively slow drivers to be bad drivers, because they cause a safety hazard. Just for the record, I drive like a soccer mom when I have my kids in the car. I just have places to go, so slow people who are fortunate enough to not be in a hurry should probably stay out of the way.
I can see you being someone who speeds considering your always in quite a hurry leaving class (Smiley).

ReplyDeleteNo anthropology class tomorrow. No speedy exits for this fast driver. I'm thinking oval beach, but fear the rain may spoil my Tuesday picnic. Regardless, I may be a few minutes late for 110.01. Please save me a seat (smiley).
ReplyDeleteI definitely know what you mean. On my way to Hocking Hills today, there were tons of people going at least 65 in a 55 zone. This doesn't seem too bad, but it gets pretty scary with those extremely curvy roads.
